The comfort and convenience of CEREC “same-day” dental crowns

At Manchester Dental, we have made getting the comfortable and quality dental care you need easy. Our dentist, Dr. Abel Aguilar, has invested in the computer-aided CEREC system. CEREC allows for us to make “same-day” crowns. 

At other dentists’ offices in West Central Georgia and beyond, crowns cannot be made “same day.” They require at least two visits. We make dental crowns in just one visit because of our in-house capabilities. We have all the software and equipment necessary to plan, design, create, refine, and secure crowns. 

Other dentists “outsource” parts of the process of making a crown to outside dental labs. Information about the crown is sent to the lab. Then, one of the lab’s ceramists or technicians fabricates the crown. If the crown doesn’t look or fit right, the process will start all over again. 

It takes about two weeks for the permanent crown to be made. During that time, patients must wear a fragile temporary. These temporaries are vulnerable to breakage. They must be treated gently. Otherwise, it’s another trip back to the dentist to tend to the broken temporary!

Manchester Dental has eliminated these hassles. With our in-house lab, we handle the crown-making process from start to finish. Our crowns are truly made while you wait and within just one visit—no delicate temporary.

1. Digital impressions are taken. This model of your mouth is transferred to the computer
2. With special software, information about your tooth is used to make a three-dimensional model of your crown. Dr. Aguilar precisely and accurately designs the crown to ensure comfort, proper alignment, and a proper “bite”
3. he permanent crown is made based on its “virtual” design. It is milled from a block of high-quality, attractive, and durable porcelain. The crown’s color can be perfectly matched to blend in with your smile
4. Any adjustments to the crown can be made in minutes. The crown is then fixed securely to the remaining tooth structure, which has been “prepared” (so all damaged tissue is removed)
