Dr. Abel Aguilar and his staff provide friendly, professional and skilled dental care. Our receptionist will welcome you and show you what paperwork needs to be completed when you arrive for your first visit.
After a thorough dental exam, including digital X-rays, has been done, Dr. Aguilar will take time to talk with you and find out any dental concerns you have, your dental history and any other dental goals you may have.

New Patient Exam
We want the best dental health possible for each of our patients. That begins with a thorough examination in order to know how healthy your teeth and gums are. We use state-of-the-art equipment to make this examination accurate, fast, and comfortable.
Digital X-ray
Oral cancer screeningWith our high-tech Planmeca digital X-ray equipment, we can take full X-rays quickly while reducing significantly the amount of radiation being emitted, especially compared to conventional X-rays. On an as-needed basis, we can also take digital panoramic X-rays, which are taken outside the mouth and around the head, providing views of the jaw, teeth, sinus and nasal areas and more.
This vital screening by Dr. Aguilar can detect signs of oral cancer. Dr. Aguilar will let you know if any pre-cancer or cancer conditions are found.
TMJ and bite alignment check
The temporomandibular joint connects the jaw to the skull. If it is not aligned correctly, a person can experience headaches, or popping or clicking when moving the jaw. This condition will affect the bite, causing more problems with your teeth, eating, and more. Dr. Aguilar will perform a check to see if there are any issues with your bite or TMJ.

Dr. Aguilar will go over everything he found during the exam, including any problem areas so you have a good, overall understanding of the health of your mouth
Treatment plan
Based on the results of his exam and his discussion with you about your concerns and goals, Dr. Aguilar will go over his recommended treatment plan, including various options, and answer any other questions you may have.
Checkups
We recommend every patient receive a regular checkup. A routine checkup will include an oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation, visual examination for tooth decay, diagnostic X-ray and an evaluation of the status of current restorations (fillings, crowns and others). Regular checkups are your best defense against gum disease and tooth decay. We want you to have a healthy mouth for a lifetime!
