Traditional implant restoration methods require placing 6 – 8 dental implants. With All-on-4 implants, Dr. Aguilar may be able to support a full fixed bridge with just four implants.

All-on-4 uses minimal implants to replace and support a maximum number of teeth because each implant is precisely inserted in the jaw. These implants are placed at angles, typically with two implants at the front of the mouth and two at the back. The implants will then anchor the prosthetic teeth or full arch restoration.

With traditional implant methods, additional procedures such as bone grafting may be necessary to prepare the jaw to receive the implants. This process is generally indicated for patients who have experienced bone loss. Bone loss occurs as a result of tooth loss. When teeth are missing, the jawbone shrinks. It is typically necessary to build up and restore the bone with a graft before placing the implant. Unlike conventional approaches, All-on-4 is a “graft-less” procedure. Due to the angled placement of the implants, All-on-4 implants do not require the same density of bone as their traditional counterparts. The All-on-4 approach renders grafting unnecessary, too, because contact between the implant and bone is maximized.
