Restorative dentistry at the office of Manchester Dental goes beyond tooth replacement. However, solutions to replace missing teeth are particularly transformative. Dr. Abel Aguilar and our Manchester, Georgia team are proud to share three ways we have transformed patients’ smiles (and lives) with the highest-quality methods to rebuild teeth.
Bridges may be ideal for patients needing to replace one or a few teeth. To support a complete, healthy, and beautiful smile with a dental bridge, we start by reducing the size of the neighboring teeth. These teeth on either side of your gap will function to support the bridge. We also gather information about these teeth and the replacement tooth to make the bridge, which comprises two crowns and at least one replacement tooth (depending on your needs). With our advanced technologies, Dr. Aguilar can make the bridge in-house – no wait! Once done, the bridge is applied. The crowns fit on top of the anchor teeth. After the bridge is in place, the new tooth fills the gap in your smile and is well-supported by its crowned neighbors.
If you need more than a few teeth or are not a good candidate for a dental bridge, implants may be in your future. For instance, the structure of a bridge requires that the missing teeth be next to each other. So, a conventional bridge may not be appropriate if your missing teeth are scattered. Implants are also appealing to replace a single tooth for those looking for a particularly conservative and long-lasting solution. The implant does not require “shaving down” the neighboring teeth, as it doesn’t rely on these teeth for support. In turn, the natural structure of the tooth is preserved. Implants for tooth replacement are also known to be particularly durable and easy to maintain due to how they are designed. Dr. Aguilar has the skills and experience to place the implant where your tooth used to be, and once it naturally integrates with the surrounding bone, he restores it with a crown. Or, as needed, he may restore a few missing teeth in a row with an implant-supported bridge.
If you are missing many or all of your teeth, All-on-4 implants may be the perfect solution! Dr. Aguilar often recommends implants to replace many teeth instead of conventional dentures. They are a comfortable and stable alternative. Since the dentures or new teeth are connected to the jaw (by way of implants), patients enjoy the stability that supports healthy speech, eating, and other functions. All types of implants can last a lifetime, too, because they keep the jawbone strong. The bone benefits from the stimulation it gets from the new teeth attached to it via implants. With the All-on-4 technique, Dr. Aguilar minimizes the time you spend in treatment and the total costs associated with implants. He does so by placing as few as four implants to stabilize all teeth in an upper or lower denture. With such advanced techniques, we do not need to place one implant for each and every tooth that is missing.
Manchester Dental combines the advanced restorative procedures highlighted above with timeless, personalized care. We mind the small details and touches. For example, following extractions, crowns, and bridges, patients get to take home a container of Jamie Aguilar’s famous, tasty healing soup (Jamie is Dr. Aguilar’s wife). It’s just one of the ways that we show our appreciation to you and thank you for trusting your dental care to us. To join our dental family in Manchester, GA, call us at (706) 981-6272 today.Â
