There have never been more ways to replace missing teeth! Dr. Abel Aguilar is pleased to offer complete tooth replacement services. Solutions available at Manchester Dental in Manchester, Georgia, include both “regular” partial and full dentures and dentures supported by dental implants.
What do you mean by “regular” dentures?
These dentures include artificial teeth placed on a gum-colored base. They are designed to mimic the appearance of teeth and gums and require a precision fit. Well-fitting dentures are stabilized in the mouth. Furthermore, stability supports patient satisfaction, excellent chewing and speech function, and comfort. Due to Dr. Aguilar’s advanced technologies and skill in planning dentures, we achieve the best possible fit. Our patients adjust to their new dentures well and enjoy lasting comfort and healthy function.
What is the difference between partial and full dentures?
Partial dentures are appropriate for patients with some teeth in their upper and/or lower dental arch(es). These prosthetic teeth are attached to a gum-colored framework. This framework then connects to the nearest teeth. So, the neighboring teeth hold the denture in place. Dr. Aguilar has carefully selected Valplast® dentures, which are flexible, metal-free, and comfortably and securely snap around remaining teeth. If you have little to no remaining teeth, an upper or lower denture may be fitted and secured in your mouth to replace all your teeth. As needed, Dr. Aguilar may perform extractions and place dentures during the same appointment (a process known as “immediate dentures”). A complete set of dentures includes both an upper and lower denture.

How do implants replace many or all teeth?
Dental implants are cylindrical-shaped posts. They are surgically placed at the extraction sites/where your missing teeth are located. Made from materials designed to naturally fuse or integrate with the surrounding jawbone, implants function as tooth roots. Dentures snap into the implants that are secured in the jaw. They effectively function as roots to stabilize the denture. Fewer implants may be secured to support fewer teeth. A single replacement tooth or crown may be secured with just one implant. Or, 2 – 4 teeth may be replaced with a dental bridge stabilized in the jaw with just two implants.
What option is best for me?
There are many factors to consider before Dr. Aguilar makes any recommendations. These factors include cost, time, longevity, and maintenance.
