“CEREC” refers to the computer-aided system that we use to make veneers and other restorations in-house. Traditionally, such restorative treatments required at least two trips to the dentist’s office. The first trip involved “preparing” to make and place the new and improved tooth structure. The second or return trip involved placing the permanent veneer, inlay, onlay, or crown. 

At our office, a return or second trip is not required. We have eliminated the time and hassle traditionally associated with this process because our team handles everything on-site. We don’t need the “middle man” or outside lab. Essentially, we have an on-site lab. 

The process generally works like this:

• Dr. Aguilar determines if you are a good candidate for veneers
• Cosmetic imperfections that may be treated with veneers range from chipped teeth to small cracks, gaps, and poorly shaped or irregularly sized teeth
• A minimal amount of enamel is removed from the teeth that will “receive” veneers. So, each veneer will then fit properly on top of the tooth
• We use scans of your teeth and special software to design your veneers on-site
• The final design of each veneer is then transferred to our on-site milling machine
• The veneers are milled or shaped from a block of aesthetic and strong ceramic
• Once they are ready, Dr. Aguilar bonds them securely to the front surfaces of the teeth
