At Manchester Dental, patients who wear dentures avoid many common complaints and challenges of this conventional form of tooth replacement. Our dentist, Dr. Abel Aguilar, places dentures supported by implants. This system, All-on-4, really makes all of the difference by promoting a proper fit and utmost stability. Patients’ satisfaction depends on how well their dentures fit and stay in place in the jaw. Our Manchester, Georgia staff is happy to present the three plus noteworthy features and advantages of the All-on-4 system as an alternative to conventional removable dentures. Â
Conventional dentures and tooth replacements (like dental bridges) only replace the visible parts of the teeth. They do not replace the vital roots that hold the teeth in place, as implants function as tooth roots. Materials like titanium naturally blend in with the surrounding bone are used to make these cylindrical posts. Once the implant is part of the rest of the jaw, the replacement tooth or restoration is attached. The restoration is connected to the jawbone by way of the implant.
Implant-supported restorations offer great flexibility. A crown or replacement tooth can be supported by a single implant, and as few as four implants can be used to replace a whole upper or lower arch. Not every prosthetic tooth needs its own artificial root due to the strategic placement of implants in the jawbone. The All-on-4 system supports the maximum number of replacement teeth in an upper or lower denture with just a minimum number of implants, which is how it gets its name. Many additional benefits arise from this approach; notably, with All-on-4, we minimize the number of implant or treatment sites. That means less trauma and less time at the office undergoing treatment. Also, by minimizing the number of implants required for treatment, we help to keep treatment affordable and within reach for many of our patients.
All-on-4 implants are sometimes referred to as “same-day” implants because Dr. Aguilar can give you a full set of replacement teeth, including upper and lower dentures, in a single visit. Yes, he can extract any remaining teeth, surgically place the implants, and provide you with a temporary denture for an all-in-one visit. We highlight that your denture is temporary. After your mouth has healed, you will receive a permanent denture that fits securely and is designed for durability, supported by proper home hygiene and regular professional care.
Due to our onsite capabilities, many different types of patients from across the Manchester, GA, area can benefit from implants. All-on-4 is largely considered a “graft-less” procedure, an appropriate alternative for those patients who have sustained bone loss but are not good candidates for bone grafts. Dr. Aguilar also provides smaller mini-implants that can be inserted without invasive surgery. These implants support fast healing, too. As a nice touch, Manchester Dental provides patients with a comforting and delicious homemade soup prepared by Dr. Aguilar’s wife, Jamie. So, our practice loves to blend timely technologies and advanced techniques with timeless approaches to care. Experience it for yourself – call (706) 981-6272 to schedule your appointment today.
